球場上的哨聲、籃球架下的碰撞、隊友之間的吶喊——這個年度，我們見證了可譽孩子最動人的一面。
在大嶼山區小學校際五人足球賽，男子組拿下團體季軍，P6溱霆獲選傑出運動員；女子組奪得團體殿軍，P6以恩同樣榮獲傑出運動員。籃球場上，男子組獲得團體殿軍，P6启睿亦獲傑出運動員殊榮。
獎項與名次，是一份肯定，但真正讓我們驕傲的，從來不是牌匾上的位置。
我們看到的，是孩子在落後時仍咬緊牙關奔跑，是防守時不惜氣力的撲救，是場邊互相拍肩打氣的默契，是哨聲完結後紅着眼眶仍挺直腰桿向對手鞠躬的身影。每一場球賽，都是一場濃縮的人生歷煉——他們學會面對壓力、處理勝負、信任隊友、承擔失誤。這些課堂上無法用粉筆寫下的功課，都一一刻進他們的骨子裏。
而這份拼盡全力的態度，從來不限於球場。同一群孩子，回到課室同樣專注地解題、反覆地修改作文、為一次測驗失手後重新站起來。他們把球場上的堅持、紀律、抗逆力，轉化為學習上的韌性。運動教會他們的，不是如何贏，而是如何有尊嚴地奮戰到底——而這，正是可譽孩子最寶貴的特質。
感謝教練的付出、家長的信任，更感謝每一位孩子用汗水告訴我們：真正的勝利，是對自己負責，是不論結果如何，都敢於全力以赴。
The whistle on the pitch, the clashes under the basketball hoop, the cheers among teammates – this academic year, we’ve witnessed the most inspiring side of Ho Yu kids.
In the Lantau Island Inter-Primary Schools Five-a-Side Football Competition, the boys’ team clinched the Group Third Runner-up, with P6 Tsun Ting awarded Outstanding Athlete; the girls’ team secured the Group Fourth Runner-up, with P6 Yi en also receiving the Outstanding Athlete title. On the basketball court, the boys’ team earned the Group Fourth Runner-up, and P6 Qi Rui was named Outstanding Athlete.
Awards and rankings are a form of recognition, but what truly makes us proud has never been about where the trophy stands.
What we saw were kids gritting their teeth and pushing forward when behind, giving their all in every defensive play, sharing silent pats on the back on the sidelines, and standing tall with teary eyes after the final whistle to bow respectfully to their opponents. Every match is a condensed life lesson – they learn to handle pressure, to accept both victory and defeat, to trust their teammates, and to take ownership of their mistakes. These are lessons that no chalk on a blackboard can teach, yet they’ve become deeply etched into their character.
And this never-give-up attitude has never been confined to the sports ground. The same kids, back in the classroom, tackle problems with equal focus, revise their essays again and again, and bounce back after a less-than-perfect test. They carry the persistence, discipline, and resilience from the court into their studies. What sports have taught them is not just how to win, but how to fight with dignity to the very end – and that, precisely, is the most precious trait of Ho Yu kids.
Our gratitude goes to the coaches for their dedication, to the parents for their trust, and above all, to every single child who proved with their sweat that true victory lies in taking responsibility for yourself – and giving your absolute best, regardless of the outcome.
