Ho Yu was recently honored to receive full support and sponsorship from TAPESTRY in organizing the “Recycled Paper Moon Lamp Workshop” in collaboration with the Green Future Academy. The event brought together Primary 4 to 6 students and TAPESTRY employees for cross-generational interaction, sharing a meaningful and creative afternoon together.
Held warmly in the school hall, TAPESTRY, as a multinational corporation committed to sustainable development and social inclusion, specially provided a large quantity of recycled wrapping paper, allowing students to experience firsthand the magical process of “waste upcycling.” Under the patient guidance of Dr. Dickson Yan, Principal of the Green Future Academy, participants gradually shaped pieces of recycled paper into unique moon lamps. The moment the lamps lit up, every student’s face beamed with pride and joy.
Beyond the hands-on crafting session, the exchange was filled with warmth. TAPESTRY employees sat together with students, casually sharing their experiences and insights about transitioning to secondary school, encouraging the children from a career planning perspective to bravely face future challenges. Some students shared that learning how the older generation had also felt nervous about secondary school transitions helped them realize that as long as they study hard and maintain curiosity, they can adapt to new environments. This cross-generational dialogue allowed environmental awareness and personal growth to progress hand in hand, creating a uniquely meaningful experience.
We were particularly honored to have Ms. Carmen Chan, Senior Brand Director of Coach Hong Kong and Macau, grace the occasion as our guest of honor. Principal Leung Wai Fong presented CEDAR night light boxes, crafted by the Ebenezer School and Home for the Visually Impaired, to the guests, symbolizing gratitude for their dedication to shining brightly, giving back to society enthusiastically, and broadening children’s horizons. The guests also joined all participants for a group photo, capturing the warmth of this memorable afternoon.
As the event drew to a close, the brand presented students with exquisite souvenirs, allowing everyone to return home during this festive time—the 25th day of the lunar year—welcoming the arrival of the Year of the Horse.
Ho Yu extends its heartfelt gratitude to TAPESTRY and the Green Future Academy for providing students with this invaluable opportunity to learn through enjoyment, lighting up every lamp of the future along the paths of environmental protection and career planning.
