3月13日，可譽小五及小六級孩子在主題式課上，化身「動物搜查專員」，參與「可觀詮宇宙」小學科學探究課程之「動物搜查隊」！當日，可觀自然教育中心暨天文館的導師親臨可譽，帶領孩子認識香港常見物種的分類方法，課堂知識學到手，立即走出課室，到譽花園及中小大樓間的長廊實地考察
孩子們細心探索，發現校園裏原來住滿「原居民」——蝙蝠、噪鵑、蝸牛、蟻、蝴蝶……一一現身！但最令大家震驚的是：做分類時，發現好多動物竟然都愛吃糞便！
原來大自然的世界，遠遠超出我們的想像！
一個下午，既有理論，又有實戰，孩子們在真實情境中學習分類、觀察與發現，科學精神由此萌芽
為用心探索的小科學家們鼓掌
On 13th March, our Primary 5 and 6 students became “Animal Investigation Officers” as they took part in the “Animal Investigation” session of the “Ho Koon YOUniverse” Primary School Science Exploration Course. On the day, instructors from the Ho Koon Nature Education cum Astronomical Centre came to Ho Yu, guiding our children to learn about the classification of common Hong Kong species. After grasping the knowledge in class, they immediately stepped out of the classroom to conduct field studies at the Yu Garden and the corridor between the primary and secondary school buildings
The students explored with keen eyes and discovered that our campus is home to many “native residents”—bats, koels, snails, ants, butterflies… all made an appearance! But what astonished them the most was this discovery: when classifying, they found that many animals actually love to eat faeces! It turns out the natural world is far more fascinating than we ever imagined!
Through an afternoon combining theory with hands-on practice, the students learned classification, observation and discovery in real-life contexts, nurturing their scientific spirit Let’s give a round of applause to our budding scientists
