可譽作為「國際青少年創科教育大賽2024」離島區的種子學校，一直肩負培育創科人才的重任，而本校編程小精英們自在當中的Matatalab 機械人不插電編程挑戰賽中，囊括各級分區優異及冠亞季軍，以及全港三等獎及季軍後，並沒有鬆懈，更投放時間及焦點在模擬太空任務中應用編程及機械人建構和操控等技能，解決指定的任務，進一步加深對太空探索的認識，最終在由香港仔工業學校聯同香港城市大學工學院等機構合辦的「第四屆香工盃 – 航天科技機械人編程競賽」再下一城，榮獲一等獎及三等獎。

As a seed school in the Islands District for the ” International Youth STEAM Education Competition 2025,” Ho Yu has been entrusted with the responsibility of nurturing innovation and technology talents. Our Coding Elites excelled in the Matatalab unplugged coding challenge, winning various district-level awards, as well as third and fourth place in the overall Hong Kong competition. They did not rest on their laurels; instead, they dedicated time and focus to applying coding and robotics skills in simulated space missions to solve designated tasks, further deepening their understanding of space exploration. Ultimately, at the “4th Aberdeen Technical School Competition – Aerospace Technology Robotics Coding Competition,” co-organized by the Hong Kong Aberdeen Technical School and the Faculty of Engineering at City University of Hong Kong, they celebrated another victory, winning first and third prizes.
