勇奪碗賽亞軍
With the tactics of ‘calm like water, steady like a mountain’
Ho Yu Kin-ball team won 1st runner-up in the bowl game of YMCA King’s Park Inter-School Kin-Ball Championship 2022-2023
可譽健球隊於4月20日參加了港青京士柏健球校際錦標賽2022-2023，經過八隊比拼，勇奪碗賽亞軍。
「心靜如水，人穩如山」為致勝術
一眾小小隊員在比賽期間，收起平日的急性子，沉着應戰，冷靜地面對賽局，並發揮團隊合作精神，穩固地控制着巨大無比的健球，才能脫穎而出，實在殊不簡單。
比賽使隊員煥然一新 終生受益
小小隊員們由小五級起，便開始接受每星期的練習，起初他們比較自我，常常為了芝麻般的小事而吵起來，各不相讓。每次都要教練及老師介入，不斷調停，才能擺平，以致球隊在建立默契上花了頗長的時間。幸而小隊員們經過一年多的磨合後，在長高了及強壯了的同時，思想亦漸見成熟，明白了隊員間互相補位及合作的重要，故才成功地把訓練焦點放在改進球技及分析賽局上。
突改賽制 未見退縮
帶隊的方志強老師表示，在訓練過程中令他印象最深刻的，莫過於本年度的比賽改制，隊員在比賽時所發出的指令由說英語轉為法語。面對這個突如其來的改變，隊員們要馬上克服過來，年多以來所建立的默契要重新適應，實在是一項大挑戰。幸好，隊員們努力改進，過程中雖然產生了很多「蝦碌」，但仍積極配合及學習，最終能在賽事中運用自如，令人欣慰。

Ho Yu Kin-ball team participated in the YMCA King’s Park Inter-School Kin-Ball Championship 2022-2023 on 20th April. After competing with 8 teams, they won the 1st runner-up in the bowl game.
‘Calm like water, steady like a mountain’ led them to victory
During the competition, all the little players put away their impatient temper, faced the challenge calmly and displayed the spirit of teamwork. Kin-ball is not that easy to control because of the size, but the little players stayed calm and tried to control the huge ball. Finally, they won the game!
The game refreshes the players and benefits them for life
The little players began to receive weekly practice from Primary 5. At first, they were more self-centered, and often quarreled over trivial matters, and each could not give in. Every time, coaches and teachers have to intervene and constantly mediate to settle things down. As a result, it took a long time for the team to establish a tacit understanding. Fortunately, after more than a year of running-in, the young team players have grown taller and stronger, and at the same time their thinking has gradually matured. They understand the importance of complementing each other and cooperating with each other, so they successfully focus on improving their skills and game analysis.
Sudden change to the game rule but no retreat
The teacher Mr. Fong, who led the team, said that the most unforgettable thing was the restructuring of this year’s competition. The instructions given by the players during the competition were changed from English to French. Faced with this sudden change, the players must overcome it immediately. It was really a big challenge to them because they need to adapt to the new rule, despite the tacit understanding established over the years. Fortunately, the little players worked hard to improve. Although there were a lot of mistakes in the process, they still actively cooperated and learned, and finally they were able to use it freely in the competition, which is gratifying.
